What Snapoena Is
Snapoena is a web-based tool that captures full-page screenshots of publicly accessible websites with embedded metadata (URL and UTC timestamp). Screenshots are captured server-side and stored temporarily for download.
Acceptable Use
You may use Snapoena to capture screenshots of publicly accessible websites for:
- Documenting web content for legal filings, complaints, or disputes
- Preserving evidence for DMCA takedowns, UDRP complaints, or cease & desist letters
- Archiving web pages for personal or business records
- Research and documentation purposes
Prohibited Use
You may not use Snapoena to:
- Capture content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
- Capture child sexual abuse material (CSAM) - any such use will be reported to authorities
- Harass, stalk, or intimidate any person
- Circumvent access controls or capture content behind authentication
- Overload or abuse the service (automated bulk captures without permission)
- Resell captures or operate a competing service using Snapoena as infrastructure
What Snapoena Is Not
- Not legal advice. Snapoena provides documented screenshots, not legal counsel. Consult a lawyer for advice on evidence admissibility in your jurisdiction.
- Not court-certified evidence. Phase A screenshots include URL and timestamp metadata but are not cryptographically certified or notarized. They are more credible than manual screenshots but may not meet all legal standards for court admissibility.
- Not permanent storage. Free captures expire after 30 days. Download your captures before they expire.
Rate Limits
Free usage is limited to 10 captures per hour per IP address. This limit exists to ensure fair access and prevent abuse. If you need higher limits, contact us.
Data Retention
Screenshots and associated metadata are stored for 30 days from the time of capture, then automatically deleted. We do not offer recovery of expired captures.
Intellectual Property
Screenshots captured through Snapoena contain content from third-party websites. Snapoena does not claim ownership of that content. You are responsible for ensuring your use of captured screenshots complies with applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
Disclaimer
Snapoena is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that captures will be accepted as evidence by any court, registrar, or platform. We do not guarantee uptime, availability, or accuracy of captured content.
Termination
We reserve the right to block access to Snapoena for any user who violates these terms. We may also remove captures that violate these terms without notice.
